Information

Our Amati copy the ex 'Kurtz' violin is now SOLD.

The Kurtz violin on which our copy is modelled, was made by Andrea Amati in 1560 and is one of his finest.  Andrea Amati is considered the father of violin making and certainly one of the most refined makers in terms of quality of line and form. The sound of our violin is even across the strings and powerful and interesting and sumptuous! It works easily providing an immediate response and even, lyrical sound at once delicate and punchy. The original is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum where it is enjoyed and admired by players and makers alike.

Please get in touch for further to details or if you would like to give it a try.
